About Ulhasnagar Maharashtra.

Ulhasnagar is a famous city located in the Thane district of Maharashtra, which is known for its world-famous fabric threads and readymade garments. Not only this but the city is also famous worldwide for its furniture, sweets, sugar confectionery, electronic/electrical products, dyes, special yarns, fabrics made of silk and nylon, and also for its jeans production.

The traders here export to many countries. Ulhasnagar was built on 8 August 1949. It got its name from the Ulhas River which flows here, which literally means “City of Happiness”. Ulhasnagar is also known as “Sindhunagar”. Its foundation was laid for the living of soldiers during the Second World War, after that Hindu Sindhi refugees from Pakistan were kept in it, where they started living thereby making small settlements.

Ulhasnagar is the residence of most Sindhi Hindus in India. According to the 2011 census, about “5 lakh 6 thousand” people live here, with a sex ratio of 887 females for every 1000 males. Where people use Hindi and Marathi languages as their common colloquial language.
