Mandsaur is a world-famous and historical city located in Madhya Pradesh which is famous for its mythological places and temples. The ruins of archaeological places related to history have been found here. The fort here, which is known in the name of this city, is a famous tourist place all over the world. It has many ancient names like Dashpura and Marhasaur.

The origin of the name Marhasaur was by combining the names of two villages named “Madh and Saur”, from whose merger this city was also formed. Later its name was changed from Marhasaur to the present name. People here consider Ravana as their son, that is the reason why the Dussehra festival is not celebrated here, but huge idols of Ravana are worshiped here.

Before 1947, this city used to be a part of the Gwalior district which was made an independent city in 1947. The city is also known for its agricultural industries. Mainly cotton cultivation is done here, and plowing and milling are done. And the clothes made from it are also exported to other states. According to the census conducted in 2011, more than “1 lakh 41 thousand” people live here, where there is a sex ratio of 898 females for every 1000 males. People here use Hindi, and Urdu languages and very few may use Marathi languages ​​in their daily life.
